21 Jun Army Scholarship Foundation, Perot Family Establish Honorary Scholarship to Support Army Families
Members of the Ross Perot family, in conjunction with the Army Scholarship Foundation, have established a scholarship to assist family members of United States Army personnel in their pursuit of higher education.
This scholarship, designated as the Perot Family Honorary Scholarship, will be awarded annually to a deserving son or daughter of a U.S. Army soldier or to the spouse of a serving active duty enlisted soldier. The scholarship was created as a result of the Perot family’s generous donation to the Army Scholarship Foundation.
“The Perot family recognizes and salutes the contributions and sacrifices of military family members to our nation and to our Army. We want to do our part in assisting organizations that support Army families. The greatest gift that we can provide for the next generation of Army family members is the gift of education, and we hope that this scholarship will assist these military family members in achieving their educational goals and building for their future,” said Darcy Anderson, spokesperson for the family and Vice Chairman of the Hillwood Corporation, a Perot family enterprise. “Ross Perot and Ross Perot, Junior and the entire Perot family are staunch advocates of our serivcemembers, and this is one way of thanking our soldiers and their families for their service on our behalf.”
The Army Scholarship Foundation was founded in 2001 by concerned Army veterans who desired to support families of soldiers. The foundation provides scholarships to deserving sons and daughters of U.S. Army soldiers and veterans, as well as to spouses of active duty enlisted soldiers. The foundation is sustained by the generous donations of its supporters. Tax deductible donations can be sent to the Army Scholarship Foundation, 11700 Preston Road, Suite 660-301, Dallas, TX 75230.
